Our kitchen garden is a unique part of Little Loco’s outdoor space, teaching children the joys of growing their own food and understanding where it comes from. The garden is lovingly cared for by our team and the children themselves, offering hands-on learning experiences as they plant, nurture, and harvest vegetables, herbs, and fruits throughout the year.
The kitchen garden offers:
•Vegetable Beds: We grow a variety of seasonal vegetables such as carrots, tomatoes, and peas, allowing the children to see the full cycle of growth, from seed to harvest.
•Herb Garden: Children can pick fresh herbs like mint, basil, and rosemary, using their senses of touch and smell to discover the natural world.
•Composting Area: We teach the children the importance of sustainability by showing them how to compost food scraps and garden waste, fostering a respect for the environment.
•Harvest Days: Children love helping with the harvest! They take pride in collecting fresh produce, which is then used in our daily meals and snacks, giving them a true farm-to-table experience.
